I have no idea what it could be.

    Can you update the BIOS?

Also can you test the SSD to see if it's not faulty (probably not but it couldn't hurt to test)?

Can you try re-installing windows from a recovery dvd?

    Can you try installing linux?

I have no exact idea as to what the problem is, however my understanding is that certain SSDs, either by manufacturer or model, have experienced high defect rates.

Your case is really curious in that there is no reason as to why the SSD should work on one laptop and not on another. The BIOS shouldn't be an issue in determining whether the drive will work; as long as the machine supports an SATA interface, the drive should be recognized like any other, which is why I suspect that the problem lies with the SSD itself. My recommendation is to find some bootable utility that allows you to check the status of the drive.

    incvn, can you

    a) try the latest new bios (3.00) and tell me if it works?
    b) give me the exact information about the sandisk disk that did work? I'd like to buy it, and I'd like to buy the right one not to have a second useless SSD.

PS: you can send me email at [email protected] to get in contact, since this forum has not private message system.

I have a similar issue with M750. I put in the 128GB SSD from G.Skill and the computer does not even recognize it. when I tried to install windows 7, it saw the disk but would not let me continue, the error was that windows won't be able to boot from it. I believe it is an issue with the drive controller in the Toshiba BIOS not able to support some disks. I will try to latest BIOS now and see if it helps.

Here is someone with similar issue:

Just installed BIOS 3.0. Still had the same problem. SSD not bootable.
