My Toshiba A205 CD/DVD Drive(TS-L632H) will not load DVDs. Handles CDs fine. I can hear the drive attempting to run up the disk. Do you suppose the Laser is out? What else to look for, before ordering new unit?

Does it have Vista/7? Try running the Upper/Lower Filters fix from Microsoft or deleting the registry keys for them (be sure to backup your registry first).

Running Vista. This problem with not reading DVDs is new. All was fine for 4 years.
