Hello, I have 2 old notebooks computers.
Toshiba Satellite L500D, the serial and product number i can not find any drivers.
AMD TURION II ULTRA DUAL CORE MOBILE M620
ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4650
4 GB RAM
500 GB HDD
WINDOWS 10 32 BIT
I am thinking, it could be cheaper to :
Add a SSD drive
Corsair 2 x 4GB ram DDR3( if i can use it in a DDR2 notebook)
change to 64bit windows? if possible, the processor supports 64bit ?
Would the bios have to be changed to change to 64bit? where to find drivers

It will be tough to find drivers for such old laptops. What drivers are you missing?
You cant use DDR3 ram sticks on a DDR2 laptop as they are not compatible and DDR3 memory for laptops have 204 pins while DDR2 has 200 pins, You're best off buying DDR2 RAM sticks. Another thing you would a 64-bit version of windows if you're going to use more than 4gbs of RAM, Your CPU should support it. Personally i think you should just get a new laptop to avoid the hassle.Starlight5 and Kent T like this. -

8GB of DDR2 memory and a SSD will probably cost you $150. For that kind of money you can probably get a a Sandy Bridge or newer notebook, though no SSD is likely at that price point. Given that the Turion in the L500D is so old it's likely to mute SSD performance.
There's all kind of drivers here for the L500D. You'll need a Windows 7 x64 disc to install Windows 7 64 bit.Starlight5 likes this. -
Thanks for the help and reply. It has no drivers missing its but if it can only take DDR2, its actually more expensive than DDR3 out here in Australia. I had a look around at ebay, nice used notebooks for a bit more money, i was going to spend on the L500D, and with paypal and ebay, i should be safe if the seller has a good repuatation.
Thank you for the reply
Yes, it would cost $207. The preformance at the moment is not much better than my old Pent4 3.2 Compaq Presario R3000. Better with a newer usedd pc i think -
