I have been given a Toshiba Sat. 2805 for learning purposes. I want to know if a newer model motherboard will fit and work in the 2805. The learning part of the deal is repair not use of a computer. My final goal is to have a machine that I can run linux on for more learning. Thank you, Keith

Unlike desktops, laptop motherboards are highly specialized and extremely difficult to upgrade though with enough skill anything is possible. Adding more memory and upgrading to a faster drive will give a nice performance boost if that's what you are after.
