I want to upgrade the RAM of my Toshiba Satellite R840 ( Toshiba), adding another 4GB DDR3.

It originally came with only one slot occupied with a 4GB Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9, having another slot empty. ( Samsung).

Here I attach more info About my System:

I don't want to go the easy way of just buying another "M471B5273CH0-CH9", nor just buy the cheapest 4GB DDR3 SODIMM out there.
I've seen some 1.35V DDR3, are they compatible with my notebook?

What do you recommend for a reasonable price?
(I see it was really cheap 6 months ago hotukdeals)

I would normally suggest to buy 2 identical SoDimm's and (after testing the new RAM in your system at least overnight) sell the original RAM.

In this case though the platform only supports at max the 10600 spec (1333MHz) so the cheaper option is the better option.

I would only buy the single SoDimm and test it fully with your existing module before you start depending/using the system fully.

(I normally test the system with new RAM for 24-36 Hrs with Memtest).

    Good luck.

Why exactly do you not want to do this? This seems to be the most logical course of action to me, especially if you want matched DIMMs (which really isn't a big deal though).
