Hello,
I have this laptop with Core i3-330M CPU. It work fine but I want to increase mobility of my laptop.
I want to install any cpu with lower TDP (Like i7-620UM,i5-540UM or other with TDP 25W-18W),but I dont know if it possible. My Everest test report about support of sockets: BGA1288, PGA988.(intel HM55 chipset) Really I dont know how it possible, and what about bios support?
If somebody can help me please do it!
Thanks to all!

You can't put any of the low voltage/power CPU's in your laptop. All the low voltage/power CPU's are soldered onto the laptop motherboard.

Well actually you might be able to.
If you have a laptop that came with an LV cpu then it will be soldered onto the motherboard, and you cant upgrade to anything.
If you have a normal upgradeable socket however, occasionally you can find the LV cpus in normal pin packages or mounted onto adapters.
I've seen this with a number of core 2 and core 1 duo CPUs but not with any i7 yet. I think they will be around.
Here we go: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/287257139/I7_620UM_SLBMN_CPU.html
This one might not have pins. But it looks like the description is copied from the intel website. so it might have pins. Im going by the "package type: fcbga" the b part is ball where it should be p lol.
eventually they will hit ebay. alibaba people dont really reply a lot.
