    Hi guys
    This is my first post.
    I have a toshiba l300 with a T2370, Intel GL960 Express + ICH8M, 2.048 GB, DDR2 RAM (667 MHz), 2.048 GB ram.
I am planning to upgrade to a T9300.It`s huge but i think is possible...Any advices-suggests?

    Thanks in advance!

The performance jump is great (~2x), but you might run into problems with BIOS and M/B support.

    See:
    http://ark.intel.com/compare/33917,34445

What is the purpose (and cost) of this upgrade? What O/S will it be running? SSD?

With 2GB DDR2 RAM, even with the new cpu it will still be struggling to keep up for simple office type tasks, let alone anything else that needs more oomph today.

In the end, it may be wiser to sell it as is and put that towards a new(er) platform.

    Dude thanks for the response

In my mind there will be a linux - with linux swap partition on a 120 gb ssd (ofc cloning would be necesary). That will get over the ram problem.I have a strong desktop and cloud computing so i could run important staff from there.I just need a good performance laptop.
The cpu will cost me about 25 euros and i think ssd about 55-65?
My main worries are about the socket PPGA478 (T2370) to PGA478(T9300), will it much ? and BIOS update of course.....
Selling would be max 90 euros and a value for money laptop costs about 300 euros....i think it worth the risk

The CPU FSB speeds don't match, so it's unlikely to work.

    Hey Zaz
    Thanks for the reply-advice.
I am aware of that. Are u sure that you can`t handle the base frequency ?
(In most laptops bios is locked but you can change some settings)

Furthermore do u suggest any othe cpus for l300-11m (with more cache at least)

FYI that is a Dual core Pent and you can't upgrade from Pent CPU because of chipset and hardware limitation. Your upgrades are Pent CPU and that isn't worth the upgrade.

You *should* be able to upgrade to a socket P Merom processor such as T7300/7500/7700 without the BIOS barking at you. Given that T7300 can likely be had for 5 euros or so, I'd give it a shot.

    Good luck.

Tasos kats, you can try putting old CPU, running cmospwd -k to clear CMOS from bootable DOS flash (or physically removing CMOS battery for couple minutes), then installing new CPU. Obviously, if there's newer BIOS available for this machine, you should update that first.

You should have been able to upgrade till T7800 without Problems.

    http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Pentium_Dual-Core_Mobile/T2370.html

I did that with my good ol' Satellite A100-491 years ago from T2050 to T7400. Maxxed out RAM to 4GB (667Mhz) and threw in a SSD. The results were amazing! :D

As far as I remember I did upgrade Bios to latest Version. Did you put the CMOS back? Also check, if any cables, connectors are sitting properly. Make sure to repaste properly, if you got back to the Startscreen.

Edit: What Bios is your rig sporting? Based on the error beep codes you can check what might be faulty.
