I have two Toshiba x200-21t laptops. One of them is not charging. I thought it was battery problem and removed the battery from the not-charging one and inserted the battery from the working laptop. But still it didn't charge. The Laptop boots up and everything is alright. But for some reason it is not charging. Also, the battery I removed from the not-charging laptop is working fine on the other laptop and also got charged. And the charger is also alright. I tried the not-charging laptop's charger on working laptop and its working.

What could be the problem? Is it something I can fix myself or will have to take it for repair?

P.S: If its not the right fourm please move it to the appropriate forum.

    Thanks.

might be a battery or motherboard problem.. but first try this... shut down ur laptop and remove battery and adapter cable.. than press and hold power button for 30-60s and then put in battery and start up.. also make sure ur connections are tight etc.. hope this solves the problem otheriwse u might need a new battery ...

Thanks for your help. I am going to try that.

BTW, I've already stated in my post the the problem is not with the battery. I removed it and tried it on the working laptop and its working fine and getting charged.

Another avenue of thought you might want to pursue is the fact that if the Toshiba power management drivers on the unit that isn't charging are installed correctly or not.

I know that VAIO computers have a software and/or driver issue that will refuse to charge the battery if they are not properly installed.

Worth checking into for your Toshiba.

    Good luck.

well then , must be ur motherboard or something.. if there's some software ,see if its installed...open list of installed softwares and counter check with the downloads on support site to see which one is not installed.
