I broke my HP DV5204ea`s toucpad cable and i need a new one. Can anyone tell me, are touchpad cables standard, or each notebook has its own cable?

most parts in a notebook are specific to that notebook, there are a few exceptions but i dought touchpad cable is one of them.
cant you fix it, scrape back the ribbon either side of the break and solder some thin insulated cable across the brake.
