Hi all, i have a cf 28 with some problems with the mouse, the problem is sometimes when i use the laptop using the touchpad the mouse icon jumps back to the top right or bottom right of the screen, meaning i cannot use the touchpad. I had the touchscreen working fine before the problem and was told to disable this as it might be a compatability issue ..... This has not worked... If i hook up a usb mouse to the computer i sometimes still get the same problem.... CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP...... THANKS![]()

First, it looks like you are in the wrong place. Pls. go to toughbook forum and you will find what you can do to your toughbook.

Is your touchpad worn or not, if not just clean the edges by a folded bond paper and apply a bet of alcohol but be very careful it may damage the surface or edges of it. Just a bet. -
IMO this is the proper place for OP to post, much higher level of traffic better chance of responses. You said even happens with external USB? If so cleaning not the primary issue although grime does cause erratic behavior sometimes. I would not use alcohol unless I had to, damp paper towel does wonders and the paper as suggested above. If you need more "lens" wipes are nice. Have you adjusted the mouse acceleration settings in Control Panel? I adjust my settings to disable touch sensitive features as even when working properly I find them flaky and annoying. When ever erratic behavior I always suspect driver issues, uninstall reinstall, it's free and is not going to hurt anything even if not the answer. Worth a shot.

Can you tell me the model no. of the unit its like cf-28XXXXX something like that. If it is the model with a factory builtin gps its a common issue. Maybe I am lazy to read the whole thing that you mentioned that even on usb it also happen. I still insist to visit the toughbook forum, you will be answer all of your Q? properly. I also have Cf-28 toughbook. OK!

As long as you are here ohlip I feel OP is in good hands. And if he could post in both would be the best of both worlds. It may or may not be isolated TB's. But yes if info was posted about his model we could find info and maybe help.
So OP post it, we might be able to fix.
