So got a bit of grease on my trackpad and decided to use 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean it up - thing is, now part of my trackpad is a bit...wonky for lack of a better word. After blowing on it with a small amount of warm air, it's mostly fine but still a bit skippy - do you wager it will revert back to normal when it dries up entirely (say the small gaps where it still might have alcohol residue?

The grease may be as much of the culprit of your issues as the alcohol.

Did you douse the trackpad with the alcohol or did you wet/damp a microfiber cloth instead?

I used a damp piece of cotton - the way I normally clean wounds and phone screens - never had issues before.

You may want to remove all power (including battery) from the notebook for as long as you can (at least an hour). At the same time, let it sit in an enclosed/fresh bag of rice too. :)

    Good luck.

Actually - I think it's mostly back to normal after drying for an hour.

I've had experiences with certain touch surfaces where even a drop of water confuses the sensor.

Makes sense. My best guess is the liquid/moisture screws with the capacitive electrical field between the panel and a finger. Hmmm. Not sure if I worded that correctly (as I'm certainly no expert).

That does happen. In future, you might want to switch to 99% isopropyl alcohol so it dries that much faster.

Its very common, even one drop of drool confuses it...... It happens when i laugh so hard about something lol

You shouldnt clean it with a damp cloth even with isopropyl alcohol, i usually wet it a bit with 70% isopropyl alcohol whenever i clean my keyboard surface and trackpad and i have no issues with it

You just wet the keyboard and trackpad without using a cloth? Eh?
