Hi, are there any laptops out there besides Dell and IBM that have the Trackpoint/eraser on them. I am particularly intersted to find out if any compal's or Asus models have that. Is that something that can be upgraded or put in to any laptop via customization? Thx

Usually, business notebooks have trackpoints on them. Other than Dell and Lenovo, HP business notebooks (like the nc6400, nx7400, nc9430, etc) have trackpoints.

There are some Toshiba laptops that offer a Trackpoint, mainly the Tecra series (like the Tecra S3). I only know four companies that offer Trackpoints which are IBM/Lenovo, Toshiba, Dell and HP Compaq. The rest like ASUS i'm not sure...

The trackpoint really seems to have gotten phased out in the past few years. Touchpads are much easier to use now than they used to be, so if you haven't tried one in awhile, it might be worth it to give it a shot. Hearst lists all the ones I know of with trackpoints. I can't recall hearing of an Asus with a trackpoint, but there could be one, somewhere.
