    anybody have advice on the deal for this memory? is it a good price? is the manufacturer known for making solid products?

    Transcend makes good memory, I had some in my notebook before I upgraded. $59.99 is a tremendous deal! Go for it. ;)

    And yes, your dv4000 is compatible (the new one yes).

    I assume it is the one with SamSung chipset. It is good and I am using it in my DV4000.
