Getting my dv5t soon, and i was wondering how do i transfer the the stuff in the hard drive of my desktop to my laptop? Really though, i don't see me transferring anything other than like 1GB of music and some MBs of word files. I'd like to transfer things like my iTunes library (with the correct album artwork/artist/song etc. that i took hours to organize, rather than just getting the music file with messed up artists/album artwork etc.)

There are several options such as a USB to USB transfer cable, putting the desktop drive in an external USB case and lastly transferring the files over the network. If the last option is utilized, I do recommend being plugged into the router, as wireless is pretty slow when transferring a large amount of data.

How big is your Ipod? If you have more than 1GB free space, you can use that to transfer your files over. It beats out buying anything, and faster than transfering over a wireless connection.

    A. Use an External HDD (Purchase)
    B. Purchase an external HDD enclosure and put your old HDD in it
    C. From the file sizes you said, purchase a 2/4/8gb flash drive (What I would do)
    D. Transfer via network.

    I'd chose C.

edit:as already stated. i think its the best and most likely the thing you already have.

I have a 2gig flash drive. I have an iPhone, not an iPod, so i don't think it would work. Anyway, how can i transfer my itunes library since the mp3's they are uploaded from have different titles/info from them. Also the cd's i uploaded into itunes aren't seperate mp3 files.
