Hi,
I have a Motorola DCH3416 DVR supplied from Comcast. Is there a way to move/copy files from the DVR to the hard drive on my notebook? I have an XPS M1530 that has HDMI and firewire I/O.
Thanks for your help!

What files?

Whatever file types the DVR stores movies/tv shows in. I'm not sure what format these are in on the DVR.

hey i had a direct tv dvr and most of the usb port wont support file transfers so what i did was pull the hdd out of the dvr and slide it into my linux box most tvr use some sort of linux file format but neways i popped it in powered up pulled all the files off converted them to dvd format and burned then took me about 2 weeks to do 200+ hrs of video but from everything i have read thats the easiest way

Apparently the Firewire connection will allow transfer of the data, USB wont.
