I would just like to confirm that my notebook, the Acer Travelmate 2420, uses 533MHZ PC2-4200 DDR2 Ram. I'm planning on slapping in a gig of extra memory and would like to check i'm not barking up the wrong tree.

With the Celeron M? My research has led me to find that you have a 400MHz FSB. You can install PC-4200 but it will only work at 400Mhz.

That's fast enough though isn't it? I'm not too sure when it comes to comparative RAM speeds.

Correct. It has a Celeron 3xx series, which takes DDR400 PC3200 RAM. The Celeron 4xx CPUs take DDR533.
