    Hi,

I recently bought an Asus K50IJ , which comes with 2GB RAM so tried upgrading with an extra 2GB RAM.

Took of the plate and there is an empty slot to place Ram, insered it correctly.

see this video to see what the RAM area of his laptop looks like if you want:
YouTube - Asus K50IJ Serie Notebook Arbeitsspeicher RAM aufrüsten / Aufrüstung ( Tutorial / Anleitung )

But when i then turn the laptop on the screen flashes a bit then it says error with hardware - i searched for errors and awempting to fix for 45 minutes so just turned it off.
So i took the new RAM out.

    whats the problem here?

When you insert the RAM(assuming the new stick is OK)it is very important to have the battery removed and the cord disconnected.

Thanks Thundernet but i did take the basery out and disconnect the charger,

could it be anything else besides a faulty RAM card?
