I just recently replaced my hard drive in a powerbook g4, but upon completion I am running into some problems securing the 4 large screws that are on the top of the bottom panel (just above the center square). One of them seems to be in place and snug, but all the others seem to not want to screw down (and they actually feel a little 'springy' when I press on them). Every other screw is in place and secure, so not sure why there would be an issue with these 3. Anyone have any insight here?

    Much thanks..

Try unscrewing the one that's snug so it's just started, then get the others start.

thanks for the reply. yeah, i've been doing that. only one seems to actually screw in. the others seem to only turn 1 1/2-2 times before stalling out and seeming 'springy' upon pressure. i've messed around with all sorts of configurations but still only that one screw will secure down. it's weird. i don't understand what the problem would be if all of the other screws are in place...

Try taking the plate off and putting in the screw to see if there's a problem there. You might have something riding under the plate? See if there's something sticking up.
