Hi Everybody Im trying to find the Seagate 500gb 7200rpm harddrive for my laptop online somewhere. I've checked Newegg and other sites, but they all seem to be sold out. Does anyone know a site that has them in stock? Please post a link.

    Thanks!

Dell has them for sale, but out of stock. But it looks like you can still order it and I guess wait? They've been out of stock for a while now almost everywhere.

Unfortunately, that particular drive is kind of hard to come by right now. I would keep checking back. Did a quick search at some of the popular online retailer and all are out of stock- Newegg, Tigerdirect , etc.. I would give the retailers a call if you really can't wait for the drive to be back in stock

    Edit
Not sure if this is the drive you are looking for but Dell does have the 500 GB 7200 RPM Momentus 7200.4 Serial ATA Hard Drive with Free Fall Sensor in stock

^ he wanted the Seagate branded Momentus, I assume. Not the Dell Momentus. There is a difference (shorter warranty, Dell firmware).

It's still sold out, TC. use the thread provided for updates on availability.

Their out of stock everywhere because of quick death issues. I think they're being revised.

msparrow88. Trying to find a 7200.4 right now is like trying to find a hay in a needle stack. I swear, it's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in every 7200.4 thread; everyone is looking for that golden hard drive.

You can buy mine if you want. I bought the ASG version from NCIX back in February and so far it's running fine.

what? Don't tell such a garbage. A few members posted that their drive failed, but this does not mean that this is why they don't release it. Maybe they hold it back because their older drives aren't sold yet, or because they wait for the competition, who knows, but I really don't think it's because of bad drives

Rumors say that the next batch will be released by the end of April, beginning May

I don't think it is a wise choice to buy something that has plenty of negative feed backs..

    what negative feed back?

They just are out of stock at the moment, and nobody knows why, which is sad.
In the other thread a few buyers posted that their drive broke down. Well, that's normal for a HDD. If you read a bit about other drives then you'll also read a lot of negative feedback in which buyers posted that their drive broke down after a few weeks, didn't start at all, they had to replace it several times, ...

Sorry, I also hate it that they don't ship it at the moment, but when they'll ship it, which should be, according to most suppliers at the end of April or beginning May, then it's the fastest 2.5" HDD with the highest capacity.

Still, I'm honest. If they don't release it soon I will also buy a different HDD, but not because of some negative feedback but because I need a new HDD in a few weeks.
