    Hello Everyone!!!

I'm new and this is my first post so be gentle, ;) . I just purchased a new Dell 9300 and I have to say I love it. Just moved to Florida and my real gaming comp is stuck in storage so I needed something to tie me over in the mean time and figured a laptop would do the trick. My specs are listed below but what I'm really after is how to get a little more out of my video. I play mostly WOW on this machine and I'm getting a little video lag at 24bit 1x multisample with all of the settings on low. I know that I can go down to 16bit but I sure don't want to if I can help it. I've already read in another thread about OC'ing this card and the fact that Dell has it underclocked a bit so it won't compete with the XPS model. ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=19373) They mentioned getting an updated driver from laptopvideo2go.com, omegadrivers.net, or an XtremeG driver from 3dGuru. I tried looking for the XtremeG driver without any luck and since the thread is over a month old I thought I would check to see if anyone has any updated information on this?

Also, if anyone knows of any other specialty tweaks for improving performance on the 9300 I would welcome any suggestions. (i will already be tweaking the registry with registry tweaks from black viper so anything other than that would be great)

    Thanks In Advance!!!

    Joe

Mmkay, if WoW is lagging on a Go6800, you definately need to do some tweaking.

First up, intall either the 77.70 or 80.40 drivers from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com. To do this, download both the driver setup and the .inf file (you'll have to select "save link as" for the .inf file). Then, extract the drivers and move the .inf file to the folder with the extracted setup utility, overwriting as prompted. Noe, go to "Add/Remove Programs", and uninstall "nVidia graphics driver. After the reboot, go to where you extracted the Laptopvideo2Go drivers and run the setup program. Restart when prompted.

Now, for the overclocking. This is even simpler. Right-click on your desktop and go to "nVidia display -> Laptop Display." From the menu on the left, shoose "Clock Frequency Settings." Select the "Manual Overclocking" radio button, select "Performance (3D) from the dropdown dialogue, and then click "Detect Optimal Frequencies." After a few moments, it will alter your clock settings on its own. Now, make sure "apply these settings at startup" is checked and just hit "Apply" then "OK."

That's it, you're ready to go! Should be about a 1000-1500 3DMark increase in 05 over the course of these steps.
