I tried using Dban to wipe my hard disk but at the point to choose my option of wiping it out, it takes me to the next process and tells me that it failed and to save on a floppy.....I don't have a floppy on my Vostro 1500 notebook.

    I have a 250Gb HDD(new version 4 pin). part #341-5638 5400RPM
    I need help as I hit a virus/spyware that won't go away.
(I already tried Search n Destroy and Ad-Aware on Admin Safe Mode)
I just want to wipe it out completely and reapply my recovery OS cd.

I had to create a new windows account in order to use net and other stuff.

    Help me please.... :(

A normal format+clean install normally gets rid of everything.

If the virus is persistant, then try www.killdisk.com

Try gparted, its free, open source, and really easy to use.
Its a 50MB iso, just burn it to a disc and boot it.
    Then delete all the partitions.
Then just boot up your OS disk(not sure if you have XP or Vista).

I love parted magic, it is my favorite Linux live CD for partitioning and wiping drives.
