As i rarely buy new computers i prefer to upgrade what i have, for a relatively small amount i gave my 3 year old ASUS laptop system a nice upgrade.

    Laptop:
    ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS K50ID

New CPU vs the old CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 (Socket P) vs Intel Pentium T4500

    New RAM memory (before it was 2x2gb): Kingston Value DDR3 SODIMM 1333 4gb x2 ( 9905428-051.A00LF )

So what i need help with is that i noticed when doing benchmarks that my RAM doesnt seem to run att full performance.

And Aida64 gives me these details.

CPU FSB 266.7 MHz (original: 266 MHz)
    Current multiplier is @ 10.5

    Memory Bus 533.3 MHz
    DRAM:FSB Ratio 2:1
    Module Voltage 1.5 V

So i belive i need to fiddle with the FSB and the memory timings, currently everything is set at standard/auto.
Ive read somewhere that 2:1 ratio is not optimal and that my memory bus should be @667mhz.
I have unlocked my BIOS so i can change FSB/Voltage/Memory timings etc.

Last time i fiddled with FSB and clocking was like 10 years ago when i overclocked my Celeron 400, so im quite rusty regarding setting FSB and multipliers CAS etc.Hence im looking for help here. :)

Im not looking to overclock anything insanely, just get everything to run at optimal speeds.

I have aida64 and benchmark programs so if you need any more input to help me please ask for it.

Edit; I realise if my post i confusing, becouse thats what i am.

Regarding Aida showing 533mhz bus, is it as it should be becouse of it is ddr3 ?

Not the detailed help you're expecting - but just to get the basic's out of the way:

Did you test with the AC power adaptor connected to a 100% charged battery? While using the Maximum Performance power options?

Also, are you stressing the system while checking the information that is reported? It could be just an issue that the system throttles the speeds when in low power demand mode.

Hope others can give you more detailed help (I think maybe James D can...), but if nothing else; think of this as a 'bump' for your post.

    Good luck.

    Thank you for replying!

I did the test now and changed to "High Performance", and battery is not installed in the computer (running AC adapter only). No difference in the benchmark results.

Here are some crappy screenhots of it, could anyone tell me if my Kingston RAM is running at optimal speeds. As you can see in some parts of the test i get worse results than that PC2-6400 memory module, and to me that doesnt sound right.

Any bios settigns if not, maybe your bios/mobo/chipset is made to support only 1 ram speed. My Acer listed below is the same way the only way i got ram ddr 2 800 ram to run aboe 667mhz was to over clock the laptop.

If you would have looked at the specs of my computer in the first post you would have seen that it supports DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM.

Your memory is running at 1066, don't worry.

But why do i get so poor results in the benchmark compared to that pc2-6400 memory?

In some of the tests it even perform worse.

    *bump*

No one who could explain these results?
