Does it make some noticeable difference still with 4GB of RAM? I'll be using my laptop for Flash, Premiere, After Effects, and ofcourse simple tasks like Word and internet browsing. If it does, please give me some example like boot time, and how it might effect these apps, thanks!

It increase the wake process from "hibernation". It also increases the startup time of programs by a little bit. It's like using a very fast SSD to cache some of your data.

When I spoke to the Lenovo rep when ordering my laptop, he advised against getting turbo memory as it did little to enhance performance and wasn't worth the additional cost. Sounds a bit like Readyboost...

It won't increase your app speed itself? only boot up/ exiting hibernation?

Apps are loaded into ram after it starts up. Even the fastest SSD won't make a difference.

SSD, Fast HDD, Turbo Memory will only decrease the app's start up speed and hibernation speed.

That advice almost certainly applies to Turbo memory 1.0, but apparently 2.0 is supposed deliver better performance. However, I cannot find any benchmarks to verify this, and the benefits from using TB 2.0 almost certainly varies with how much RAM is installed to begin with.

I'm not sure there are any benchmarks to 'provo' its effectiveness, however I feel the OS is a bit snappier when I"ve got all 4GB of TM cached. Bootup times are decreased, and if using User Pinning, application times are decreased dramatically. Apps like Photoshop, Bridge, Word 07, Google Earth, etc, load in half the time, or faster. I really enjoy my 4GB TM module.

Not very cost effective in terms of performance boost... Maybe you can get faster startup and the like but not very beneficial..
