I posted this in another forum but i thought that maybe the components guys might be able to help me out. I know there has been many discussions on turion vs c2d. I have read in a few discussions that the c2d is faster and uses less power in laptops than the turion. My question is what processor would be better in a laptop the turion TL-62 2.1Ghz or the c2d in a lower speed (ie 1.6Ghz or so). Which one is faster and which is cooler? This way the processors are in the same price range. I am looking the hp dv6770se laptop so if you have any advice please let me know.
    Thanks for your help.

The Turion is gonna be a bit faster than the C2D (by a reasonable margin if it's an older C2D). The C2D will, however, probably draw considerably less power and run a bit cooler.

What's the model number of the Core 2 Duo? The Core 2 Duo will likely be a bit cooler and have lnger battery life but the X2 might bea bit quicker. It's a tough call.

TL-62! A bit more faster, but a bit more hotter.
    I have a 1.5Ghz, I would have liked a 1.8Ghz C2D.
Faster C2D not available? Other wise go for the AMD. I would go for it.

thanks for the link. i wish i found that post earlier. I am now leaning towards the hp dv6753ca (intel)instead of the hp dv6770se (amd). Thanks for all the help everyone.

PS. Here are the 2 processors for the 2 computers i am thinking of:
    (Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T5550 1.83 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)

    (AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-62 2.10 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache, Up to 1600MHz system bus running at AC/DC Mode 35 watt)
