Does anyone know which companies are planning to release notebooks with the new X2 processor? I heard that MSI will, but I haven't heard of any others. Around when do you think these laptops will be on the market?

There's a lot of speculation about all this - some say as early as May as other say it won't be until November/December. I think they'll be released toward the end of the summer, but I could be wrong. Other notebook makers, such as HP/Compaq, Lenovo, and Gateway/eMachines will probably use Turion X2 CPUs.

The supposed set date of release is sometime in may. But when actual products will hit the shelves is anybodies guess. I have read some speculations that it won't be before July! In the mobile market it takes a bit of time for things to get moving.

Until CPU maker delivers first samples to companies for them to start developing products, then for CPU maker to deliver enough quantities, and finally for manfacturers to go mass production.

Example the duo which has been released a month ago, there are many notebooks powered by it that are yet to start shipping

I'm predicting summer X2 Turion laptops, but that's just my guess after hearing the chips' speculated May release date.

I think you're looking at late summer for the X2s, even though CeBIT is showing some off now. MSI has one at the show, but it is pretty much a mockup using the S270 chassis (called the S271), so I'm not sure how far along they are.

Saud, Yamato is the equivalent of Centrino, which includes Turion X2. Turion X2=Dual Core Turion. See this for example.

Yes I hope Turion X2 will be good enough to beat Intel's San Rose platform Merom.

Merom has: 800 fsb, DDR 800 mhz support, Dual core, 64 bit, more futures like SSE etc. En merom is gonna brake 5 hours life barriere :)
