    Hi all,

I just recieved my Compaq V5000z today and I am having a little trouble running Call of Duty 2. I discovered the reason: the processor is clocked at only 787 mhz out of the 1.8 ghz it is supposed to.

It is currently plugged into AC, how does it reach it's full potential?

It clocks down when it is idling (no load). It usually throttles up and down as the need arises.

If you want to have it at max performance, go to power settings (in control panel) and select 'always on' instead of laptop/mobile. But then your laptop will heat up more

Be sure you're checking the processor clock when you're actually doing something too. Because if you check it at idle...as qwester said...it will be throttled down.

I agree with qwester though, make sure to adjust your power settings to show that you want more performance.
