Hello everyone, I'm from Brazil and recently I bought one Sager 9380NP with two Samsung 840 EVO 1TB I thought the software Samsung Magican would work perfectly with two Samsung 840 EVO on RAID0 but this don't work...
This software it's unable to find my Samsung 840 EVO when they're on RAID0...
So I undid my RAID0 to see this I get better performance with just one Samsung 840 EVO + Samsung Magican and I'll post the picture...
Probably the RAID 0 results is inferior but when I copy any file to another folder the RAID0 performance is better!!

Sorry for my English.. I hope you guys understand what I mean.
Thank you in advance.
Regards, Rodrigo.

A hardware solution is always superior to a software solution. That is why your real world copy tests show the RAID0 solution to be superior to the supposedly better benchmarks the RAPID software gives you in CrystalDiskMark.
However, if you're not using that high sequential transfer speed for work purposes (such as RAW video editing...), you are wasting a TB of SSD capacity and introducing another level of potential failure to your setup.
Sure, the benchmarks look impressive - but wouldn't you rather have a stable system with 2TB of capacity to boot?

Thank you a lot tilleroftheearth. But with the RAID0 I'm able to get 2TB actually I'm avoiding to undo my RAID0 because if I undo it I'll to create two partitions each one with 1TB I dont like to use a computer with two partitions.
But tilleroftheearth why do you think I'm getting maybe one better performance with RAID0 if without RAID0 on benchmarks in geral I got a better result? Thank you so much again and sorry for my english.I hope you guys understand what I mean.

Sorry, my mistake. RAID0 doesn't rob you of capacity (I know that!).
Nothing to 'like' or dislike about partitions - for the best long term use of a computer system; they are mandatory - no matter what storage subsystem we decide to use (HDD or SSD's).
You are getting better performance from RAID0 because that is what combining two or more physical drives does: it increases real world performance (especially for sequential operations like copying/moving/creating files). However, as I already mentioned; it does that with an increased risk of total failure (if the RAID has a 'glitch' for whatever reason; all your data, programs and O/S is immediately destroyed).
For the partitioning part:
For the minimum: you need to leave ~30% as 'unallocated' on each drive (about 280GB) if you want to have a setup that will give you the least WA (write amplification) during TRIM and GC (garbage collection) routines and thereby giving you the most consistent performance over time (sustained), no matter how you use the drives.
Glad to have helped a little.
Take care. -
Thank you so much tilleroftheearth. I'll keep that in my mind.
Two Samsung 840 EVO 1TB working on RAID0 really not worth it?
