I'm about to order a Dell XPS 16 and put in an Intel X25-E (32GB) SSD. For my extra storage I will need two 500GB external HDD's (Seagate Freeagent Go).

My question is, will I have any problems copying files between the two external drives via a USB hub (to clone the first HDD)?

    I found this USB hub: 7Power USB 2.0 Hub, 6 Ports + 1 Mini-B Plug

    Thx :D

Nope. It's a little faster if you connect your drives directly to your system USB ports instead of going through a hub, but not by that much. If you have a firewire connection that's even better, but some systems don't.

Seagate externals come with pre-installed software for installation to your system, drive management and backup management/scheduling. It's one of the easiest systems I've seen so far for backups. It's also 1-1 not an archive, so you can do a clone right from the Seagate Drive Manager once you install it. One Manager program will also manage all of your external drives. I've got 2 750gb and 1 300gb external Maxtor's, and 2 320 Seagate FreeAgent SSD's. The Seagate Manager recognizes and will manage them all for backups or whatever you want to do.

Cool! Thanks for that, it's exactly what I'm looking for!
