Can I use two sound cards in one PC? I want to record one audio stream and listen to another simultaneously. I'd be using two sound systems.

i myself wonder the same things. but apparently the manual says, you can't do it.

i've tried out using onboard and dedicated sound card at the same time and when i boot up to the desktop, it came up with an error message. i think the sound did work though, if i remember correctly.

but i guess i rather avoid using both at the same time as it might cause incompabilities issue and system instability.

Of course you can have 2 sound cards in a desktop. You can have 2 in a laptop if you really want.

I personaly used to use 2 at a time. Audigy 2 running though 5.1 speakers so I could get good sound fro movies/games etc. And used the motherboards onboard sound card for Ventrillo (voice communication software) & music. That way I could chaneg the volume of each independantly. So I could keep one loud and the other quiet.

All you need to do is make sure each program knows which sound card to talk to. Ive even run my new PC with 3 diffrent sound cards running at once but that gets to confusing.
