Hey today I made something for my class on my laptop. And when I took that image to my class the image was at least 3 times darker. I'm not exactly sure why this happened... Btw My laptop is a Pc and the other one is a Mac but that shouldn't make a difference.
Is it the type of monitor I have?

What software on your PC and the one in class?
-
Different LCD panels as well as different software can cause color discrepancies.

I made a image on photoshop on my laptop. And then I moved the image to powerpoint. And brought that powerpoint to class; however, the image which I made in photoshop looked a lot darker. Except it still looked fine in the powerpoint on my laptop.
How many different kinds of LED panels are there? -
You know you can color calibrate your LCD monitor via the video card's software? Do that first. You can change everything from brightness, contrast, hue, vibrance among others, and for each color setting independently RGB
-
channel how do you do that? also when you guys say software do you guys mean the os or like firefox, safari, ie, etc?
-
Dont go around changing the videocard settings just like that!! Either one of those monitors are simply not calibrated correctly or it's settings mixed up exactly by doing like mentioned above. Big chance is that the color profile in photoshop is just different from the one on the mac, first check if your photoshope document isn't made up in CMYK iso RGB accidenatly.
For correct calibration use a hardware calibrator if you can lay your hands on it. And simply check the image on other computer too see if it's your laptop of the mac that is wrong.
edit: And there's a couple of different kinds of LCD's.....you've probably got a TN in your laptop, but the mac is probably also a TN so shouldn't make a difference. Or the mac is a Mac Cinema Display then it could be an IPS panel. Other varieties are MVA, S-PVA, IPS, S-IPS and some others. TN is most common, mva and up are pretty big leaps in price too from TN -
Btw the Mac is really old... My laptop screen is way brighter.
