I just ordered some a 1333 16gb kit for my t430s but I just read that on ivy mobile parts it can slow down your system to a crawl and that you need 1666.

Please reply, because I can still cancel my order for my 1333 kit to buy some faster ram.

    Thanks!

Why is it urgent that you get someone elses opinion on this?

I need some to confirm whether i need faster ram. I am still able to cancel my order fir 1333, but in a couple hours I wont be able to, and I will need to pay a 15% restocking fee.

That RAM should be fine. You wouldn't even notice the difference.

That is the biggest load of baloney I have ever heard. Sure MAYBE during 3D gaming on HD 4000 will you notice the difference between 1333, 1600 and faster memory. But it's not going to slow your system to a "crawl", that would be more on a mechanical hard drive more than anything. Use the difference for the faster RAM into an SSD, it will be a better upgrade than anything else.

Stick with the 1333MHz, 1600MHz won't make a lick of difference unless you're gaming on the iGPU (not that much of a difference though).

Yes I am curious as to where or from whom you have heard this? Also, there is no 1666 RAM.

When you search explicitly for other peoples opinions thinking you 'need' them and value them 10x over doing research yourself, we see here its very easy to end up thinking such misinformation like "1333mhz ram can slow your system to a crawl". Not so sure if our attempts at advising him with real information are worthwhile or deserved if he is just as quick to jump to a conclusion like this or believe misinformation.
