Okay, so I've tried every option available on my TV and have an external plugged into with movies. There's no option anywhere.
How can I access data so I can watch movies with my family throughout christmas? Do I need to plug my laptop in and enable the movie? Argh.

What tv is it? Is it detecting the drive at all?
Your TV might only be able to read certain filesystems. -

Oh, and another thing, Flipfire: I just tried to use HDMI from my laptop to TV and it's not working (worked on my previous laptop, though). -

As for your HDMI not working, is the TV detected in your display settings? You might need to update drivers or something -
