Does anyone know of any 12.7mm Slimline Sata USB 3.0 Optical Drive enclosure.. I can't seem to find any..

I have a Lacie 6 x bluray writer 12.7mm in usb 2.0 enclosure, but writing at 6x means you need a sustained transfer rate of 27MB/s, which usb 2.0 is unable to achieve.. why they used a usb 2.0 enclosure for such a fast drive I don't understand..

    Any Ideas?

USB 2.0 should be more than capable of sustaining 27MB/s. I often get that sort of speed from external drives which is more or less the same situation.

If your BR drive has a standard sata interface and you can live without an enclosure something like this could work:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-3-0-SATA-III-OTB-Drive-Cable-/260860731650?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbc82e102

Other than that I dont think you have many options, seems stupid that no-one has manufactured one yet, really.

USB3.0 does give a lither more power, which may be useful to some, otherwise, not all USB2.0 --> Sata controllers are made the same (not to mention, laptop HDD/SSD and USB controller matter, too!), so not all will react the same (not to mention, 27MB/s doesn't take into account SATA encoding and headers).
