Man, it's been a while since I've been in the Hardware forum. 'Sup? ;)

I'm beginning to look for a new laptop now that my Acer Aspire 6920G has moved out of its extended warranty period, and I'm beginning to suspect that the machine that replaces it may not have a Blu-ray drive in it.
Or an optical drive at all - that Lenovo ThinkPad X220 looks pretty damn good.

So I'm looking for advice on which USB Blu-ray drive to get. Optimal price would be sub-$100, faster speeds would be swell.

    Thanks!

Hello stranger. You just want a blu-ray reader, not burner? I've had an Asus external blu-ray burner since sept and as I said in another thread, it's been totally reliable.
Let me take a look around newegg and see if I can find you anything. :)

    Edit:
    Blu-ray combo drives
    Plextor $125.
    Another Plextor, $85.

    Blu-ray burners
Asus, $133 ($113 after rebate). That's exactly like the one I have, only blue. But it does NOT come with blu-ray player software like mine did.
