I just bought some D-Link HUB and I hate it. It has an external power supply (which is good) but the hub stays on power all the time. Even if the data cable to the PC is not connected at all. I want to turn off the devices when I turn off the computer because I have an USB fan attached and with this setup it is ON all the time.

Also, I don't want a hub with switches if possible, I just want that the hub can recognize when the PC is ON.

    more ports = better.

Do anybody know any hub which matches the criteria?

    Thank you.

How about using a power strip that has a 'control' port that when the main device shuts down, all of the outlets also shut down.

that is not comfortable. I have a very nice cable management and I have no cables/strips visible (accessible).
