    Hey ppl,

This is an issue which has really been pissing me off the last few days:

When I try to use a USB stick the window freezes, but when I pull the stick out all the windows that froze unstantly unfreeze. It doesnt matter what USB stick and my cardreader gives the same issue. Tried going from Vista to XP but didnt help, but in Ubuntu it works fine. Weird part is my Ipod does works fine in windows as a removable storage.

One workaround is that if I disable my USB2 controllers in device manager my stick works. Maybe useful debug info. On a forum I read my problems could have to do with IRQ(?).

Any help would be great as this problem just won't go away... :/

i had that problem with a few of mine, it's normally because the file system (NTFS) is incompatible or corrupt or just downright lazy. i had an 8Gb SD card that my EOS 450D formatted to its own thing and then nothing would read it apart from the camera. happens sometimes with CDs, plug it into a different computer and see what happens

Well, my system is formatted in NTFS, but it used to work. There must be a way to fix this, maybe a workaround or so.
