Is it possible to connect the DVD Drive (Dell Latitude D520) to a Laptop which does not have Optical drive, through USB port?
The DVD drive interface looks like this.

Please advise me the right USB converter cable for this drive.

You might want to take a look at these.
Slim line laptop IDE to USB Adapter. Converts any laptop 12.7mm CD-ROM
NewerTech USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter
I'm not entirely sure if any of these would work, but it's a start, and maybe some of the more experienced guys could give their suggestions. -
Something like this should suit your needs: Newegg.com - SABRENT EC-BIDE Black USB 2.0 CD/DVD-RW Slim Notebook Drive Enclosure.
Basically, all you need is an enclosure for the drive that has the right interface. On the picture it looks like an IDE connector. The enclosure will protect the drive so you can just put inside your laptop bad and carry it with you. -
It looks like a proprietary Dell connector on the outside. If you open the drive enclosure I'm sure there will be an SATA or IDE optical drive inside.
If you don't want to open it up, you could try something like this: Dell X1 110L D420 D510 D520 510M 600M USB DBay - PD01S | eBay -
On closer inspection, i think namaiki is right. There seems to be something over the drive though so there is probably another type of connector under it.

Thanks for the replies.
From the drive specification, It seems it is an slim ATAPI interface.
So I would need an slim ATAPI to USB cable. The one at Slim line laptop IDE to USB Adapter. Converts any laptop 12.7mm CD-ROM seem to be more suitable for me. Will there be any cheaper ones?
