I just replaced an old dell computer with a new vaio.
I kept the external usb mouse (which I purchased overseas) that I was using for my dell onto the vaio. I didnt think much of it at the time, but both dell and vaio made the same beeping/squealing faint noises... so I thought maybe it maybe from the usb. I only have the mouse plugged in at the moment. I took it out and voila, it stopped making the constant faint noise.
Anywho, I was wondering, does it matter that my mouse was bought overseas...ie: could that be why the computers have been making the same noise?
Thanks for any information!

It is definitely the mouse. And I don't think the fact that you bought it overseas has anything to do at all.Mouses are the same, requiring the same voltage worldwide.A mouse is so cheap that I would buy another one and not risk any damage to my USB port or my PC.I have a bunch of these and they work great.(wireless and cheap as dirt).
