I have my logitech USB mic set as the default audio input but when I go into Audacity and try to record something, it uses my onboard mic instead. I tested the device and everything should be good but it's not.

    Any suggestions?

Audacity might be defaulting to the on-board card. Go into the Preferences and tell it to use the USB mic instead.

So basically remember that there are usually two settings - one for the system default, and one for the program itself.

You can also try disabling the On-board MIC as well -
