    Hi,

I bought a new laptop recently (specs in my sig) only a few weeks old and out of nowhere one of the USB ports stopped working. I was in the middle of playing a game (Bad Company 2) at the time, and my mouse was plugged into the port. Then suddenly my mouse movements stopped and I traced the problem to that USB port after trying another with success.

I can't think of any reason why this would have occurred. The laptop is for arguments sake brand new, and I have not carried it anywhere with me; it has been sitting on my desktop on top of a notebook cooler since I got it.

Any ideas? Is it a driver or hardware related?

Help would be much appreciated and I hope this is in the right forum. Thanks!

Ok, I did a bit scouring and found a solution that worked pretty easily.

I uninstalled the USB drivers from Device Manager and then restarted my computer. Upon restart the drivers were automatically reinstalled and all my USB ports work now.
