    Howdy, folks,

Just bought myself a Gateway P-7805, but am in need of some adapters for legacy equipment.

What I need most of all is a USB to Parallel adapter (The DB-25 kind, not the printer kind). Does anyone have any recommendations for a good USB to Parallel adapter cable? Maybe even a little USB docking station that has both DB9 RS232 ports and DB25 Parallel Ports.

I see a lot of different things out there, but don't know which are good and which are junk.

    Thanks!

I'm guessing from your sig you need this cable for use in EEPROM programming or something of that sort? You may be better off to contact the manufacturers of the equipment and see if they have suggestions. I do a lot of automotive tuning and used to do some chip making with a friend, most of the equipment out there has a "prefered" cable that seems to work better over some of the other choices available. That or on forums dedicated to the type of work you need the cables to do would be my suggestion.

It's for interfacing to JTAG and BDM debuggers that I already own. I'll check with Freescale and OCD and see if they have any suggestions.

    Thanks!

I've found some that work great with SOME THINGS, but never one that works great with ALL things. Expresscards probably are a better solution if you interface multiple devices with a given interface. Good suggestion Hep!

Yeah, that's what I mean. I've had the USB to DB25 work with printers... the serial ones work with some very simple devices like mice (but not tablets). Express cards just have not failed me.
