I own a UX303LN with a gloss touch screen, the WQHD screen is a problem for me, the scaling is bad and the yellow is a noticeable annoyance. Battery life is also not great I presume this is from the touch screen, I get maybe 3 hours. The mouse is infuriating but the keyboard is really nice however.
I've been considering a P645-SG because it has a larger screen with no touch facility and 1080p and also Win 7.
Recently I discovered that actually I quite like the touch screen and the UX303 specifically for reading ebooks, but ruled anymore of them out because of the WQHD.
However I am told there is a UX303LB that has both touch and the 1080p panel instead of the WQHD?
Can anyone tell me if and where such a model exists?

It isn't the touch screen that affects battery life as much as the ultra high resolution at which it runs. More pixels = more power needed to drive them.

Who told you this?
Best bet; contact Asus and see if they build the model you actually want. Rather than asking random people on the 'net.

I read it somewhere, that a 1080p touch screen version was available but not in North America.
Battery life even more reason to go less pixels that the fact a WQHD in a 13" screen is a ridiculous idea.
Perhaps a 1080p panel can be retrofitted instead of the WQHD panel. -
There is not a 1080p touch on the UX303LB. I ended up getting a faulty American UX303 with 3200x1800 and buying a UX303LB from Germany, and using the keyboard from the faulty American UX303. Not a good way to go about it, but only way if you want 1080p with US keyboard, unfortunately.

Not in the States but I was under the impression elsewhere in the world yes?
In that case can a 1080p panel replace the WQHD while retaining the touch screen facility?
UX303LB with 1080p touch screen..
