    Hey guys,

I'm the 13-year-old CEO of LaptopMemo, Gadget Reviews & News. Anyway, I just buy the Ultra ULT40326 HDD Dock. Whenever I plug it in it, Windows doesn't recognize it, and calls it an "unknown device". I can't believe I'm asking this question because I'm a MASTER with computers, but hey, everybody needs help sometimes, right?

    Thanks guys (and girls).

    Stef :D

Try using a program like HDTune to perform tests on the drive, and to check the SMART attributes.

Also, try plugging the drive into another machine.

Almost forgot. The problem even comes up when you don't have an HDD in the dock. Seems weird..

If you still get the problem on a different computer and while using different HDs, then the dock is your problem. In that case the only thing you could possibly do is to uninstall the driver for it and to plug the device back in.

Another thing you can do is to
    1)Shutdown the computer
    2)Plug in the device
3)Turn on Computer and enter BIOS
4)Don't change anything F10 (save and exit)
5)Check if it is properly detected in Windows
It happen when plug and play with USB Controller in Windows is cranky happens to certain USB Mouse on my laptop had to do 1 to 5 for it to work
Good News is you only need to do this once the subsequent times it will work without having to do this.
