Is there an ultrabay 2000 like adapter I can use in my HP laptop so I can have a secondary hard drive in the drive bay instead of an optical drive?

As far as I know this laptop uses the standard slimline connector still so its just a matter of adapters.

nothing too extreme in cost, if its extreme... ill just stick to usb enclosures.

I am on the same boat. I want some adapter to replace the DVD-ROM with a second hard drive for my Sony notebook. IBM has a 'ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter', I was wondering if we can use it.

There is one, but it comes with the HD included already! Should be around $200 though.

The optical drive on the dv2000 is fixed to the chassis using screws. I don't think a modular drive is an option. USB is probably your best option.

Thank you for your quick reply. I don't see any expansions for SONY notebooks. I even called the customer service number on the website. They don't seemed to have any expansions/caddies for SONY notebooks!
If you have any more links or information. Please share it....

    Thank you,
    Partha
