I did a clean install on a Acer 1830T. All drivers and updates were installed. WEI says the desktop graphics score is 2.2. That is much too low, as far as I know.

I double checked with Passmark, also a very low score.

After that I tried installing drivers from Acer.com. No improvements.

I get 3.2 on both graphics on my 4500mhd , and i have the latest Intel video driver.

EDIT : Your SSD 4k fix could not have anything to do with the low score could it, as Intel HD graphics on built on the CPU.

I thought about that too but no it doesn't seem to have any impact.

Have you tried running 3dmark 06, the Intel HD is supposed to get around 1300 points, just in case WEI is wrong.

I tried searching Intel.com for new series 5 chipset drivers, turns out I was using the wrong key words. Searching for 'HD graphics' worked. Now the desktop rating is 3.2, the gaming rating is 4.6.

    thanks for the tip maximinimaus.

PS. I suggest downloading drivers from Intel.com instead of third party websites.

I thought i would give these drivers a go, but i keep getting the message "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" , and i downloaded the gs45 express driver for my 4500mhd , they just do not want to install.

Tinderbox, take the series 4 driver from Intel.com

    Chipsets > laptops > Series 4

I don't know whats wrong. The Installation Readme states that the GS45 Express chipset is supported. Did you try to install the graphics driver via "Device Manager"?

Yeah, I tried that as well , no go :(

Maybe the Acer device id does not match "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_03001025&REV_07" , though the Intel.com drivers work fine.

I tried those drivers, which are even newer then the latest ones on Intel.com, but there was no further improvement.

The last drivers on Intel.com included a new VBIOS therefore the performance increase. The newer do not have a new VBIOS.
