I'm curious to experiment whether undervolting (if at all possible ) the NVIDIA GEFORCE 310M would lower its temperatures?

Is that possible and how? I have tried underclocking it using NVIDIA Performance menu/app, but that had no noticeable effect over the temp...

    Thanks!

It can be done using NiBiTor, a vBIOS editor for nVidia video cards. It will involve re-editing vBIOS entries for voltage. Then the edited vBIOS has to be re-flashed to the card using nvflash tool. You have to know, what You're doing though, one silly mistake and You'll brick the card. I don't know if the voltage can be changed on a software level.

    Edit:

    You can try NVIDIA Inspector.

Your GPU automatically downclocks when idle, so underclocking doesn't do a thing except slow it down when you need it...

Looking at the screenshot, it doesn't offer anything different than what the original NVIDIA Performance menu does...

Not really true :) You are able to underclock the downclocked idle state as well. This just doesn't have much thermal effect.
