Hi guys, today I received a T8300 CPU for my M1530 (thanks aleicgrant) and am in the process of undervolting it.
I am using RMClock 2.35.0 to do the undervolting.
So far, there are a few questions I have:
When I select the CPU info tab, the information on the processor shows as unknown. I did a bit of searching around, and it seems there was a beta version of the program that added support for the Penryn CPUs. However, when I downloaded it, it would not run as that particular beta version expired in December 2007.
So basically, people who are undervolting Penryns, what version of RMClock do you use?
Also I noticed in a few threads people were able to drop the VID to 0.9250V, is there a registry edit to enable this? As the lowest I can go is 0.9500V.
Any help much appreciated!

Oh oh well well. I don't know how to make it to 0.925V but is OK to stay 0.95V.
Personally, i use penryn T8100 and I could use 0.925V as the lowest VID.
But, I use 0.95V instead of 0.925V because 0.925V is not stable when playing high resources games.
Take note that penryn temperature is marked wrongly in the RMclock.
It reads 5C lower. -

After that, I download some good monitoring softwares.
I give you the link, you download it and check.
http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
This freeware(speedfan) reads 5C higher than RMclock on the Penryn Processor.
Another software is EVEREST Ultimate Edition(which is very true), it reads 5C higher than RMclock on the penryn processor. -
Make sure its set to mobile not desktop

Is my T9400 a Penryn processor ? If it's, I will have to double-check my cooling result.

D/L for CPU-Z, http://download.cnet.com/CPU-Z/3000-2086_4-10753792.html
After download and extract it, turn it on definitely.
You would see a lot of tabs. Goes 1 by 1 and read the information it provides.
Basically, I think T9400 is penryn processor.(not 100% confirm)
Extra info,
EVEREST Ultimate Edition is a very worthy and nice software that give a lot of information of your PC and very detail and accurate too. -

RMclock does not detect Penryn CPU i believe but it's still possible to undervolt it just fine. Yes, it is said that RMClock reads the wrong temps by 5 degrees. You can check this thread out for more info regarding this. Under section iii) Bugs in RMClock http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=276661
For more undervolting info,
You can refer to this thread

It's a great read. Enjoy! -
So nobody knows how to set the VID to 0.9250V?
And also I take there is not a current version of RMClock that recognises Penryns properly? -
It doesn't read the temp or the actual voltage right, but it still works fine.
Just open CPU-Z and CoreTemp while you are testing, they will show you the actual voltages and temps.
