Is it possible? I've heard someone undervolted their i7.
I'm mainly looking into this to undervolt an i5, maybe 450M. The Envy 14's battery life figures are just too low for me.

This would be the first I've heard of it.

I'm fairly sure the voltages are unchangeable on the non extreme versions of the i series, at least the mobile series anyway.

If I remeber the datasheet correctly, you can pinmod the CPU to undervolt.

Undervolting a Core i5/i7 would likely be difficult because of the Turbo Boost feature; the chips likely adjust voltage very quickly to support it. There are probably a lot of voltage increments and changing all those would be time consuming and difficult.

That is of course all hypothetical - as noted, it has not yet been done (AFAIK).
