I've been trying to get the panel LP156WF6-SPB1 from sellers in the UK. However, after receiving the wrong panel in two occasions, I decided to look elsewhere. A friend of mine traveled to China last week and I asked him to purchase the panel for me over there. I was obviously expecting the panel to cost considerably cheaper in China. The panel is manufactured there.
The aforementioned panel is listed by most sellers on eBay at £45 or less. I've only seen one seller with a £52 price tag. In fact, I received an email from a local hardware replacement shop that the panel is now available for £44. This translates to about $60. Now, my friend has found 3 shops in China and, to my surprise, the cheapest offer was $82. I wasn't expecting that at all. Is it possible that those sold in China are of a better grade or have been through quality control ? It is shocking that, after shipping fees and EU import taxes, the screen is $22 cheaper in the UK than in China.

No, not shocking. Price follows demand. And demand is different depending on location.

If you want it, then $82 is what the price is for you now. ;)

Also since you have received 2 of the wrong panels it is possible they have the correct panel and it is more expensive.

Yeah, but why are they listing different panels under the panel I am looking for ? I think they no longer have it in stock. Also, I got an email from my local hardware store saying the panel is now available for £44.

Problem here as others mentioned market prices fluctuates with various market suppliers. And no one two will be the same. They might be the seller but they buy it from different suppliers so prices changes based on that as well.

And how much do they haggle in China, and are they taking advantage of the Round Eye?

Yes, that's 'normal', considering they all sell 'compatible'. If you want an exact panel, then buy used; LP156WF6-SPB1 for $49.

Not sure why you specifically want the SPB1, though. It's good, but the B156HAN01.2 is superior on every count. Of course, it's also near-impossible to find, yet now and then some do turn up ... so I'd just keep checking until there's a listing for a used example.
