I know most laptops prevent overcharging the battary, but does it make a big difference if you unplug it when using AC adapter? How many of you guys actually unplug the battary? Thanks!

As has already been stated, it helps to preserve the battery, but on the otherhand, it works as a UPS in case the power goes out. ;)
I would personally unplug the battery. :)

The damaging effects are the exposure to heat. When you unplug are you putting in a cool place? It is simply to much effort for too little return. Keep the damn thing in and relax.

Right now I have it out because my pc runs a lot faster when I have the ac cord plug in and the battery out. With battery on it runs slower even with ac adapter on, weird...
